Halifax Jazz Festival Welcomes New Executive Director
Halifax Jazz Festival is proud to announce the appointment of new Executive Director, Tenille Goodspeed. Her experience as an event producer and music industry professional makes her an ideal leader for the festival. Tenille has been a key player with organizations like the East Coast Music Association (ECMA), Boots & Hearts Music Festival , Wayhome Music & Arts Festival, and of course prior editions of the TD Halifax Jazz Festival (HJF). She brings to her new role extensive experience in charitable sector fundraising, grant writing, marketing, and communications. She’s also a lifelong choral singer, and a founding member of Xara Choral Theatre, named the top women’s choir in Canada, gaining national and international recognition as an inter-arts genre ensemble.
It’s an exciting time for HJF. We recently unveiled a bold five-year strategic plan to broaden our creative footprint and become a regional leader generating social impact across numerous fronts. Under Tenille’s leadership, we’ll expand our year-round concert series, showcasing emerging and established artists, and launch new educational initiatives to support and enrich music education in schools. In doing so, HJF will help build the creative economy and diverse cultural capacity of Atlantic Canada. So please join us in welcoming Tenille! Exciting times lie ahead for the festival, and for live music in Atlantic Canada.
